Ok i'm kinda new to oc'ing and when i took off the standard hs/f on my chip i kinda broke the socket clip thing. Luckily the one i was replacing it with was the type that screw in. So I was wondering if anyone can tell me a good way or the best way to do this. I looked but couldn't find a guide to it on the front page but if someone wants to point me to one that would be fine. Also, some asII got off the die and onto the chip and when i went to clean it (rubbing alc. and cotton schwab) it just seemed to smear it. I did get most of it off but there is still a thin "film" of it on the chip over the L7 bridges. Do you think that this is ok?
sorry I cant help you with the hs&f but I know you can have the Artic Silver smeared over because I was kind if messy with my last installation of my hs&f and got thermal paste all over my cpu and is still overclocked and working fine:D
