View Full Version : Building a laptop...basics?

I've been out of the OC community for about 3 years. I was wondering if building a system is cost-effective option, and if there is an agreed upon method of going about it.
I've built desktops for years, but I'm in college now and need something portable. I'm thinking dual-boot xp/vista and OSx86 if that makes any difference.

check out Asus, they have bare bone laptops.

Do you have any idea about their compatability with osx86?

you have to buy apple, you can not build a custom rig for OS X - Apple has some type of identification i beleive built into their motherboards to allow OS X to be installed, OS X can be hacked to all hell and emulated to ruin on X86 regualr hardware, but i dont think many people have done it, and their performance hit is significant.
