Hello everyone,
I have an old pc that just barely makes the cut with the latest games. I have attempted to overclock the fsb, without success.
Here are my specs:
IBM Aptiva 2164-631
Windows98
PIII 500Mhz katmai slot1
IBM motherboard: v66...?
chipset: Intel 443bx (440bx/zx)
384Mb Sdram pc 133
Bios: Acer (2 years old; no update available)
Integrated soundcard
Geforce2MX 32mb DDR(overclocked 200Mhz core, 330Mhz mem)
145W power supply
The motherboard itself has no jumpers, so no mechanical possibility to change the fsb. The "castrated" BIOS has barely any options. My only hope was Softfsb, from that Japanese guy. I found my clock generator on the mobo and used it's ID accordingly. Softfsb was able to read the fsb, which is 100Mhz, but when I changed it, it would return to default after the 3rd pass.(I'm sure all you experienced overclockers know what I mean) Can anyone tell me what the problem could be and how to solve it? If you need extra information I'll provide it if I can. Thanks.
