Ok, Should I get new Xp for my Asus A7V133 motherboard? or should i keep my 1.3 TB?

I am looking into overclocking either of them, which one would be easier without having to mod anything?

Well its easier to unlock the thunderbird. But if you have the extra money and want those extra mhz go for it! Just don't ask how to unlock an xp it shouldn't be that hard to find lol.
(jk its a forum ask all you want)

Personally I'd say wait to put an XP in. Your TB should be a good chip for a while and if you wait you can either get the 2000+ if you have the $$ or the prices will go down on the lower XP models.

Why not just clock your current rig higher? Get more speed from your current setup & you will have a faster system w/o the cost:burn:

id stay with the tbird as it is not a huge improvement when you go to the XP. I mean i get some of the same benches with my tbird as do others with the XP. Some lower some higher

For an A7V133 get a T-Bird. I would not use an XP on a board that only supports it through a bios update. You are only looking for problems. Just ask a lot of A7M266 owners.

I too would stick with the Tbird.

You'll be better off going with a board that was made with the xp in mind rather then trying to use one that is basiclly patched to support it.

I'd too would stick with the t-bird. Work on other things. My 1.4 is now at 1.748 and it tests out nicely.

The XP just isn't that great an improvement over the t-bird to justify spending the extra ca$h. The price will drop as faster chips are released.

And here it is (hopefully) at 1.747

Well that did not work out too well. How about this, at 1747 I am getting ALU 4857/FPU 2401. Close to that Intel and am working on catching it.

I'd keep the Bird. 1.3 GHz is NOT slow (contrary to what some people, ahem, the blue and orange people, might have you believe) and AthlonXP support on a lot of motherboards is somewhat sketchy right now. An AXP screams for DDR memory, anyway.

My advice is to stick to what you have for now, and grab a 2 GHz (actual speed, not PR speed) thoroughbred and a DDR333 board around June-ish. According to the front page, that's when Thoroughbred (which is made under .13u process) should be available. I think, for high end TBird owners, that will be the first real performance upgrade.

Got the T-bird in today at 1.76, for testing only as it is not very stable and got the following:

ALU 4893
FPU 2424

MMX 9609
FP3D 12001

It will post to 1885 and after that I get bios boot block errors. This does not mean a lot to me as getting rid of 140 to 145 watts is necessary in order to go any farther. This does however give me reason to believe that I can go higher.
