Okay, so my brother has a habit of downloading way too much. This slows down my wireless network beyond repair... in other words makes it as slow or even slower than a 56k.

What i want to do is block him from being able to connect to our network, so he has to connect to a different near by network... therefore letting me use my internet as fast as it should be.

How would i go about blocking a computer in my house from using the same network as me?

One problem is the router we are using is one provided by my mothers company, it is a ZyXEL router which is pretty crappy. im not sure what i can do here. can anyone help me out?

You could enable MAC address filtering, and only allow the MAC address of your wireless adapter. That would be the quickest and easiest way.

*makes note that downloading way too much on someone elses internet would not only be illigal, but also immoral and mean to whomever is payinf for that internet*

maybe you should get a better router and do QoS, that way whatever your doing takes priority over whatever he is doing.
