Hey guys, I have the chance to upgrade my ATI X1900XTX to an ATI X1950XTX for about $50. Should I do it? I've read a few reviews on the X1950XTX but haven't seen any good comparisons between it and the X1900XTX. Thanks.

for 50 bucks... ehhh save it... the x1950xt isnt much better than the x1900xt... and if you overclock ur x1900xt a lil.. ur on par with a x1950xt... ur call... i would save it and pay for gas for ur car if you drive.... i kno i would rather save the money and spend it on something else.... it sorta sux driving a vehicle that gets 10mpg... 11mpg if i am nice to the gas pedal  ... but that RARELY happens.

I did it for $200, $50 is a good deal. You will only notice a difference at 1600x1200 + res's though. ;)

Can you say triple post? Lol.

Ehh, if you have extra cash and dont really "need" the 50 bucks, then yea do it. Probabaly wont notice any difference in games though.

exactly.... benchies arnt everything... i can tell you right now my 6600gt AGP 128mb 128 bit when it was overclocked was 25% better in the benchies than my friends 6800nu PCIE 256mb 256bit... but when it came down to game time espically in bf2 with the same settings his FPS were always more constant and slightly higer than my average.... he mabey only had a 3fps gain over my average (when i was overclocked on the vid card) but my fps would fluxuate so much more than his it was crazy... it would jump from 40-85fps... his 75-85 fps.... like i said benchies arnt everything. and like the other person said...(that posted 3 times... nice job) you probably wont notice any difference with a resolution less than 1600x1200 with all the eyecandy on... and even then only a small small diff.

I would, but I like quiet computers.

Yes, I forgot to add that the x1950 has a quiter and more efficient cooler, looks better, and will increase your minimum framerate also.

The differences are pretty small at stock vs stock speeds, and the x1950 doesn't have as much oc'ing headroom so I imagine that at max oc's the difference will be smaller. Only other thing the x1950 has is HDCP but that shouldn't be an issue for a while and only matters for HTCP use.

I rather save it, then grab a DX10 card.

I would do it but mainly for bragging rights. :)

What you've already got can play anything at super high res and details. Save that $$$.

Use that money to buy a quieter cooling method, like the HR-03
