Hello, my Lanparty board has blown its RAM power MOSFET and im seeking a replacement.
Does anyone know the model of the MOSFET in the top right hand corner of the Lanparty Board?

How do you replace a mosfet?

well, from DFI street, they said simple soldering on a new one should do fine

How are you gonna remove the old mosfet? It would seem kinda hard because its soldered completly to the board. I guess you can just clip the old leads off and solder the new mosfet and put it on top and put the heatsink back on.

Removing it won't be too difficult. You could either heat a solder pad up while gently pulling on each lead. Or you could snip each lead, remove the mosfet, then slowly remove each leftover lead with a small pair of needle nose pliers and an iron. I'm interested in this myself. I had a main power mosfet blow once (gigabyte board that I recapped) and it took my duron 750 to the grave. Was never able to figure out what happened, but I didn't know the history of the board beforehand.

How about taking the sink off it and seeing if you can't find some numbers to google.
btw. people recap mobos, this I would imagine would be much easier then that.

the mosfets on my dell motherboard stand straight up

it seems like the heatsink on it is soldered on from the sides, ill try and unsolder em

Yeah thats to help in power (heat) dissipation.
If you decide to clip the leads, make sure you know the orientation of the mosfet so you can solder a new one in properly. As soon as you have confirmed the orientation, I would clip the leads then unsolder each one individually as that would probably be easiest.
I would remove the mosfet, place it in the freezer for about 30 minutes or so, then try to pop the heatsink off and you should be able to read the part numbers so it should be easy for you to replace it.

How did you figure out that it blew? :) My guess would be that it is an Intersil made chip.
As for NVidiaocmaster's question, your Dell MoBo is probably using a different packaging of the FET,i.e non-Tpak.
