id say go with an Abit ST6 and a Celly1.2, its cheaper and faster than all PIIIs not based on Tualatin core....

Actually, I answered this last night but when I hit 'enter' I got site not found or some sort. Got all mad cuz I had it well written. I'll go for it again..summarized of course=)

For email, you don't need anything more than a 200mhz cpu really. For DVD anything around 500mhz will do fine..provided you did nothing else when watching your DVD.

For your graphics cards, there's no reason to go AIW radeon over a Radeon ViVo. You'll be missing TV tuner, video capture, and be about $100USD richer. Don't use ATi's DVD player as its still jerky on 2K/XP. There are better ones out there anyhow.

I answered DVI in your other thread.

AMD Xp..

Not that than the Tualatin.

The XP will provide you with great multimedia interface.. and once you overclock it.. damn thats a beauty ..

i agree with funnyperson (hope that didint offend u) go with a tulatin. But then again, if dvd is ALL that ur going to do then u dont need anything faster then 500mhz.

ECS k7s5a and a Duron 750 plus a Radeon 32mb DDR

That's under $150 US and easily does the jobs you want.

Well re-reading the post I would just recommend a P3 700 and CUSL2 board and ATI Raedon 64ddr VIVO..

I mean I don't think you would need the extra mhz for watching dvds and being a workstation waste of cash.
