Well, my packages came in but i am missing my 3/8 fitting. So i went to home depot and bought some pneumatic brass that's identical to the DD fitting almost except it's brass. Is it a good idea to use brass in system? Is there any type of ill effect for using brass with coolant? THanks.

Welcome to the forums!

AFAIK, you should be OK with the brass barb - but I would wait for a few more people to respond!

...whats the rest of the system? IIRC brass is a copper combo, which in an all-aluminum loop could cause some corrosion

yeah, brass is made of copper and zinc. It's over half copper. There are actually waterblocks made of brass, so I'm sure you'll be fine!

EDIT: Oh and what Como said is true, if you mix copper and aluminum in the same loop, the copper will slowly cause the aluminum to corrode. But if you use use antifreeze or some other anti corrosive additive, you'll be ok.

Brass is fine. It won't corrode with copper.
