1 - no. It just makes more memory available to each channel. Otherwise I'd think 4-stick sets would be the norm
2 - 1t command rate isn't normally available in BIOS settings on Intel chipsets. It may be available through programs like memset, I'm not really sure. If it made a big difference there would probably be more buzz about it so I don't believe it does but that could be wrong.
I thought as much. Just confirming. It's a shame about the 1t timing thing. All the benchmarks I've seen show ddr800 only getting about a third more bandwidth than ddr400. Before I saw this I assumed it would actually be twice as fast but oh well. Thanks for the info.
