Anyone know how long a WU has to be out before Berkeley assumes it's not coming back and reassigns it?

According to Eric Korpela of Berkeley, a WU expires on the 28th day after issuance.

Thanks for the note, chawken. I had wondered because of the slow machines coming online now. I guess that's 672 hrs for a 24/7 machine until it expires. Hmm... I DO have that Apple //e and VIC20 sitting in the closet. :D

Please! I can process a wu faster than a VIC20. I don't mean my computer, I mean me, the human. And if you are willing to pay to set up the double-blind laboratory conditions I'm willing to prove it! ;)

You're on!! Just remeber, no calculator to help out, and your result file must be accurate!!

:watches eobard's paper burn from the extreme speed of de-chirping, calculating fast-furrier-transforms, checking the data for gaussians spikes triplets and pulses, ect:

Actually, there is a chip made for the C-64 (kinda like a Pentium Overdive chip) that will get it running at 16Mhz on a 386 level... Throw Linux on that baby and let it crunch on...

Really? I'd like to check one of them out. Is there a link to where I can get more info on the net?

OK, Just went to the site, and found out that my memory was faulty... It isn't 386 compatible... Here's the link for you though...

Man! I was so sure it was 386 compatible!! Mabey if we plead to SETI enough, they will make a version for the 6502...
