Just thought that I would spread my good news. I have two machine right next to eachother on my desk. The noise was getting somewhat bothersome. I ditched the Maxtor 20 Gig which was one of my main culprits. The next thing I did was made the 7 Volt modification on all my 80mm fans. WHAT A BIG difference!

I know all you purists would cringe at lowering your fan speeds; however, I am willing to do it for the sake of my ears not ringing anymore.

My point - PC to loud..do the 7 volt mod because it works great.

is the rig overclocked? What kind of impact did this have on cpu/mobo/case temps?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I added some foam padding to my case. temps didnt change much and noise went down slightly.

My CUSL2-C is stock with the PIII.

Mobo 27 deg C - Proc 40 deg C.

Not bad for as quiet as this is.

Are those temps when the cpu is idle?
Also you could use throw-away mouse pads if you have any.:D
