My 1800xp

Can get up to 1621 megahertz with the fsb to 141

Anything highers uncivilized, I get a lil white line at the top of meh screen

WTF is up with that?!?! How do I get that lil white line off and make the son of a bl88t to boot up correctly at higher fsbs?

1 I tried changing my vcore higher

2 I tried screwing with my ram voltage

3 Im just all shook up! :(

4 Im happy that I got to oc the son bl88t to 1621 (1900XP) :D

Any opinions are GLADLY taken

btw system temps at full load are at 41c with 3 case fans

PS-Antec 300 watt which cuts off when the 5 line is below 4.80

its around 4.95 right now

There are no guarantees when it comes to overclocking. My 8kha with an athlon won't go about 139 fsb...

Memory is a variable, as is psu, and your 300 may be a limiting factor.

Also, you don't post your mobo, that could be an issue..

I could go on and on...

Post your specs, people may have some ideas for you.

motherboard epox 8k7a heard it could go past 150fsb so i got it

1800xp athlon

2100 ddram (micron)

geforce 3 ti 200 oced to 210/450

antec 1200 case (geting good airflow)

alpha 8040 heatsink (heard it was great and it is)

Delta 68cfm (loud son of a bl88t) I hate the noise but ill survive

samsoung 40 gig hd

disk drive thats old as h e double l (its not the prob either)

took it out and still wont boot, i get the lil white satan line

sb live sound card

ethernet card (its not the prob i took it out and tried booting)

The lil line is just like this _

I don't know about the line, but that Micron might be limiting your fsb.

The line could be related to your oc'd vid card. May have worked before, but not now with the added stress.

To may variables when it comes to FSB overclocking. It could be your ram, chipset, agp card, cpu, anything. You may want to try unlocking the chip. The hassle of doing that may be less than figuring out a fsb problem. Usualy when you hit your max FSB its time to stop trying to pushing it as you'll leave yourself running in circles trying to figure out whats limiting you.

What mEKbOY said and one more thing! If you are getting 41 full load with the alpha, I would say that is about as far as that is going to safely go (for now!). Going much higher at full load could be somewhat dangerous, lol yeah yeah you know that sorry :P
Anyways, my opinion is burn it in with burn6 or something of that sort for a few weeks and then try to mess with it a bit. And maybe try getting that sucker unlocked, too. Sometimes breaking it in helps a LOT! I couldn't do 1ghz right away...I was stuck at 980-something or other and then I burned it in for a week or so and I've been running at 1ghz/1020 ever since!

I got about the same results when I first started ramping up my XP 1800: mid 1600s. So I unlocked the thing and could EITHER change mult. OR fsb but still got into the same range. I left it running there a while and kept trying to bump it higher until I got sick of it!

One evening I decided to go for broke: set mult. at default and went to 150 on fsb, which was a good bit higher than I had been able to get it. BINGO! Stable as a rock, but I can't do any other adjustment. It seems like I hit the 1/5 divider and can't go any higher.

Might be worth a shot.

I think that what i have to say has already been said. For a good burning in software you might want to try folding(links in the sig);) Just something to look at and it burns in very well.

Cool! Beat 1.7 at last!

And to keep that baby running you could Fold or use SETI@Home to put those unused cpu cycles to work!Check out Overclockers.com Seti Team (http://www.ocsetiteam.com) Just hit the link!
