Got all my C2D stuff in today finally.

E6600: Week 29A
DFI 975X/G: I know it's not the best oc board, but people have been hitting 400 lately with the new BIOS.
GSKILL DDR2 800 HZ's

I have never messed with a 775 CPU before. They are a lot lighter without the pins. I'm looking for the gold triangle on the socket when I read the manual and see the slot is keyed to only go in one way. Doh.

People complain about the stock fan? It was pretty easy to get on. Just push down on the four side and it clicked right in. I had a worse time trying to get the memory in. All of the regular DDR I have ever had went in much easier.

My Storm isn't here yet, but I definitely will load Windows and everything else to make sure everything is fine before I throw all the water in and the Thermalright chipset cooler.

Nothing like the sound of the posting beep and getting into the BIOS when you get a new system. :) The CPU started in the 20's and crept up to the low 30's while I was in the BIOS.

What sux is I didn't change my unattended install DVD. Now I can't use it until I take all the pointers out for the drivers. :(

I don't think I've seen a week 29 clock just yet, too bad you won't have more FSB to play with ;)
Hopefully Oskar can get you up to 430ish before too long :D

I'm on it right now. Mu a ha..... I've been out of Intels so long, it's like starting from scratch. It took me forever to figure out how to setup the RAID.

Oskar doesn't work on Infinity's..... :( Everybody is amazed there have been this many updates on this board..

What sux. The mailman drops a note in my box saying that I have a package at the office. Cool. That would be my Storm, tubing and Thermalright chipset cooler. Go up to the office and no package for me there. We checked everyone. They damn well better deliver it tomorrow or Jab-Tech is getting a call. They sent it as a signature confirmation and no one signed for anything at the office. What ticks me off is they don't even try the apartments first. UPS and Fed Ex does and will leave it at the office only if no one is home. I can't watercool yet because I'm waiting for my coolant from Petra's, but how hard is it to drop off a package?

I want to make sure everything is working fine before I put all the watercooling pack on. Nothing worse than spending all that time and something doesn't work.

this kind of thing always happens to me. the guy writes the slip, then has to finish his route before he drops it off at the post office. it should say "available after 5pm" or something.i would try again back at the post office just before they close. the one closest to me in in a drug store that is open 24/7, but the PO is open untill 9pm. i usually go around 8pm and my stuff is there. its only a cpuole blocks from my house, when i was waiting for the stuff in my sig, i was going by there every hour all afternoon "is it here yet???!".

ah yea and nice setup it sounds like. hope you have fun ;)

Cool, now just post some PI scores. Haha just playing with you.
Anyway, if it makes you feel any better my post office does that all the time and when I go to pick it up they usually just tell me to come back as it is still on the truck to be delivered. Either way though the wait should be worth it for the improvement you will see with this upgrade.

I just ran a 1m for giggles. 21.07 @ stock. My memory was running at 667. I changed it to 800. Upped the voltage to 2.1 and changed the timing to 4-4-4-12. It cut about 1/2 second off of my first run. That is frickin amazing. I have never gotten lower than 29 on any AMD and that was overclocking to the max.

TAT will not run on this board. I get some enumorator error message and the program ends. Not only does it fail. It changes the multiplier from 9x to 6x. I've read everyone with the Infinity board is getting this. Anyone know what causes this?

Smart guardian is reporting some massive low temps...but so is Core temp:

But it is 18c in my room now. This is using the stock cooler. I can't wait to see what the Storm will do. :)

it dropping to 6x cause EIST is enabled, ie speedstep. lower cpu speed for lower heat when idle. disable EIST for 9x 24/7......
watch i bet it does 333fsb with no voltage increase.

I upped it to 300 for now. Already faster than my 4400+. :) 18 second 1m now. I'm not going to push it until I learn these Intels and the memory settings. I've already got my memory running 902 at 4-4-4-12. Any idea how far the GSkill HZ 2 GB kits do? For 300.00, it better be good.

902 as in 451*2 (ram is double pumped)
They can generaly run up to 600 (or 1200) with some hefty voltage 2.3ish (use a fan if you go that far) cas5 on an updivider.

Ahah, and thanks to your motherboard now my Opteron 165 is alive! But it almost buckled over and died with your crazy ass watercooling CMOS settings...

What...you didn't like my 1.525 vcore and 3-3-3-7 timings?

I'm at 334x9 now..... :) I'm dumping my DFI board for Epox4life's P5B.

Heh, don't worry, I'll be going right back up and perhaps past that vcore once I get that Xp-120. I duno about 3-3-3-7 tho.. maybe if I'm desperate ;)
