PCIx16 slots question.

Ok i have the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe board and am running a single EVGA 7950GX2. Can i run the one card in either of the PCIX16 slots. Or do i need to run it in the top slot only? WIll it think im trying to run an SLI config if i but the card in the lower slot or what? I couldnt find anything out in the manual.

I think it doesnt matter, not sure.
Just give it a try, best way to find out.

There is usually a label on the MOBO around the PCI-E slots that should say "PCI-E x16 1" & "PCI-E x16 2" at least on my motherboard there is, and it should be put in the #1 Slot.

Depends on what your BIOS settings are. I don't know the particulars of that but on my board if you look HERE (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?p=4593419#post4593419) You can see that he had to change the settings in BIOS for it to work right.

I dunno about your board, but in my DFI NF4 ultra D, it'll run @ 8x on the lower slot. I noticed the speed in the nvidia control panel in windows xp

You'll probably have to mess around with BIOS or jumpers do get the bottom slot to do 8x. Almost no motherboards have 16x on both slots, it's usually like 16x on the top slot and 2x on the bottom one by default.
