a quick question for yas.

do slot A t birds use the same golden finger device as the athlon classic?

i have an athlon classic 650@824 that is due to be replaced with a slot a T bird 750.(the new motherboard is in the mail)i pulled the case off the T bird and see that there is the same plug as the classic athlon,so i am guessing that they are the same.i hope so because the t bird has an 850 core.i'd love to see it at a gig.the new board does not have provisions for fsb overclock so i have to rely on on multiplier overclock......all fingers crossed :D

I would think that they do...there wasn't really a whole lot changed between the two cores. Some, but not tons. Though they did move the cache on die...that might actually mess it up. Since you have it on the way, I guess we'll just have to see, eh?

i thank you for your input.i found an article affter i posted this that says a gfd is the only way to OC a slot a t bird.with an 850 core it should do well:D

well I got all the stuff in to do this.and with some success I managed to get this 750 slot a t bird up to 900 on an fic sd11 board.the memory band width on this board really sux but overall so far i am (somewhat)satisfied.

I suppose I shouldn't complain.the board and processor cost me 80 dollars total,so 900 mhz for 80 bucks is not too bad.

1 note.I had to disable the voltage adjuster on my gfd(northwind ver 3).for some reason it would not boot with the voltage mod on the board.it might be the motherboard has a problem with different voltage.....don't know:eh?:

just a line to let you know what's up

DOG...too many pc's to list:D
