A couple of years ago when I joined, Antec True Power PSU was highly recommended, since then they have released NeoHE and Phantom. However I don't see many people recommending them anymore... How come? I'm buying a new psu soon, and would like to know why they are not recommened as much.

I am leaning towards the Antec NeoHE 550W
my build is as follows:

E6400
Biostar TForce Deluxe
2x1gb Patriot DDR2-800
GeForce 6800
4x hdd
benq dvd rw
Antec P180

Their CWT made units (all but the Neo HE and Truepower Trio) have a hard time keeping themselves cool enough to last long under heavy load. They use poor quality Fuhjyyu capacitors that don't like to get hot. Thus, they often don't live to see their second birthday without one or more capacitors going bad. Some don't even live that long because of this problem. A shame - CWT really knows how to design a PSU.

The Neo HE and True Trio are Seasonic built - they still got Seasonic to go cheap on capacitors, but fortunately it's not so big a deal for a Seasonic made unit.

Personally, I don't tend to recommend Antec anymore. For good CWT made units, look to XClio or the Thermaltake Toughpowers. For good Seasonics, look to Seasonic themselves, Corsair, and the PC P&C Silencers. If you should happen to want a fanless unit, grab a FSP Zen or Silverstone Nightjar.
