Happened to me after a needed format. I just downloaded a new Internet Explorer ! What IE are you using (if you're using IE) ? I had installed Internet Explorer 6 on both my Win98 and my WinME comps, and it was choppy too, so I just uninstalled that version and installed 5.5, afterwards, it worked like a dream

i just upgraded to IE 6 from IE 5....but it still gives me the choppiness....it only happens in IE....some times when i install something or run my floppy...but thats natural....but not in IE...

Any suggestions?

You wouldn't happen to be using an Optical Wheel Mouse from microsoft would you. I get choppiness with it when installing software, but not in ie.

Try uninstalling IE 6 and installing an older version, like 5.5, or just keep version 5. It helped me when it happened to me

But it was happening when i had IE 5....maybe i should try ie 5.5

When i formatted, i also partitioned my hard disk...it was my first time doing it, would this be the reason that its lagging so much....
but i doubt it cuz everything else is running fine....

Anymore suggestions?
