I was wondering if i would be able to play Ut 04, even in the lowest settings, on the comp im my sig...
The only requirement i dont meet is 1.0 GHz
* Windows 98/Me/2000/XP (XP)
* Pentium III 1.0 GHz or AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz or faster
* 128 MB RAM minimum (256 MB)
* 5.5 GB free hard disk space (20 GB more or less)
* 32 MB Windows 98/Me/2000/XP-compatible video card (MX4000 128 MB)
* Windows 98/Me/2000/XP compatible sound card (onboard sound)
* DirectX version 9.0(included) or higher
* 33.6 Kbps modem for LAN/Internet play (check)
* DVD Drive (check)
Im going to try running the demo to see how it runs but just wanted to get some input before hand. Thanks.
I tried awhile back, and had absolutely no success, it ran horrible, like 5fps.
Short answer - No. Long answer it may run but if you play online you'll get your ass handed to you because you'd be so off the pace. Try the UT GOTY if you have or can find it.

Nope. A 500MHz celeron isn't going to run UT2k4. I tried it on a 600MHz Duron, which was quite a bit faster than your celeron. The game loaded but was completely unplayable, basically a slide show.
The min specs are always overly optimistic. To really run UT2k4 fast enough to enjoy it you would need 512mb of ram, a better video card like a 9700/9800 pro or a GF4 Ti series, and a 2GHz Pentium or 1.5+GHz AMD processor.
Like Trap05 suggested, the UT GOTY edition would be best for you if you want to play something in the UT series. Q3 Arena is another option.

I agree, give this a try if you haven't already. Its an old game, but actually still very popular, more so than 2004.

You're best bet are games that are a few years old. Examples include:
FPS games
Unreal Tournament, Game of the Year edition.
Quake 3 Arena
Half Life
RTS games
C&C series - maybe get the generals edition that has Tiberian Sun, etc.
Warcraft 1, 2 & 3 plus expansions - maybe get the battle chest that includes a lot of value for the money
Microsoft also has some great games that your rig can run, such as Rise of Nations and Age of Empires. You can get a list of all their games and the min. system requirements from microsoft.com.
That's really all I can think of. Unfortunately you're pretty limited, just about everything from the last couple years will require more power than you have to work with.
