How about we set up 3-5 teams of users and race to a grand total. The teams should be fairly even in totals and average output to start. Anyone like the idea? It could be updated once a week just like the other stats. If anyone is intrested post here.

Sounds great. Basher needs to organize how many fantasy-teams will be involved, then we need to figure out who is interested and try to evenly fill those teams.

Can this be like playoffs? Each team is pitted up against another and the winner advances. To the Captain Crunch Bowl...hehehe. I don't know...maybe a prize can be given out...like a burnt CPU or something? What you think?

Yeah......we add those little competitions we already have:

Borgs vs Federation
Sir Epix vs Me......

That will spice the website a little bit.

Currently I am thinking of 3 teams.
team 1 captian TC
team 2 captian Chawken
team 3 captian Cy

fill the teams with anyone who want to join so the average WU/day average is close and race to 3-5k from the starting point

Ok I have 11 people intrested, I want the teams to be set by next wednesday so anyone else interested speak up you have about a week till I finialize the teams.

There ought to be some ground rules though i.e.,

No adding to the farms :p .
Optimizing (overclocking) current machines O.K.
Upgrading (new processor, ram,...)current machines not O.K.

So on and so forth.

I think adding to the frams is the main point :) to increase the teams total output

Sorry, Basher. I have nothing against adding to the team's total output, but it sounds like whichever team buys the most hardware after the start, wins (Christmas+3kids=no new hardware 4 me :D).

If people want to add more machines to their farms, let them add them under a pseudonym(??) til after the race to 3k or whatever, then it's more of a tweak/overclock competition than a hardware race.

you counted me in right? perhaps there should be a farm grouping, and a singles grouping. if the farm people want to add farms....ok....if the singles want to upgrade.....ok.....what do you guys think?

Yep, for this first run of the race I feel we should limit the rules lets go with out any and see how it goes. A race to 3k will last about a month. This is basically in development so lets just run it and see what happens. I would still like to get about 5-10 more members but even more would be great.

So Basher, you have 3 team captains - but who is going to fill the teams? Are you going to work it like a fantasy lottery - each captain picking a member, one by one, or are you going to distribute the members among the teams?

I will make teams a even as possible. Teams will be set by next wednesday. Should take about 30 days to run the race to 3k. Teams will not be even in the # of people only in # of wu's per day

I must say that I don't like the rule about not allowing the addition of another cruncher. Why if this is motivation to add one, then why not, heck in the end it's just more w/u's for the team, but I will follow rules :rolleyes:
