I have Roger's Cable Lite internet at home. Every once in a while (at least a few times a day), the internet stops. What I have to do is unplug both the router and the modem, plug in the modem -- wait until it starts up, then plug in the router.

I was told to do that once by the Roger's people -- because of some disyncronization between the two machines.

But now I'm required to do it ALL the time. Why?

is your router wireless? Is the firmware on the router up to date? Is the machine running Sp2 (if it is a wireless router).

Are you sure it's not your signal knocking your modem offline?

Most of the time you can get signal info by going to
http://192.168.100.1

It's the most common URL for modem signal pages. Did it work for you? It should work fine with any Surfboard.

EDIT: Well I guess that did not answer your question. I learned about it on dslreports.com 5 years ago.

Do you live in a very populated area? I know a few people in town that have the same issue with rogers, but its mostly due to severe traffic and the server hiccuping all the time.
