Very Nice

That looks pretty sweet, and it looks like a good whip on Sony's arse, the 360 can be upgraded and modified to a greater degree... can it do 1080p off VGA?
Uber-OT:Also... what video card does that MAC come with? I've never been able to buy one just seeing how much profit they make off of one of them.
It can do 1080p over both VGA and component. There is no DVI.
This makes me a little mad. I had assumed that there would never be 1080p on the 360 so when I bought my monitor 3 months back I didn't poney up the dough for a monitor that could do it. Now I'm kicking myself because I want Halo 3 in 1080p.:(

Mine has the Intel 950 which is no good for games, but good enough to do HD-DVD video. The iMacs can be equipped with an ATI x1600, x1900 or Nvidia 7900GTO

I signed up yesterday for Silver membership on my mates 360 I'm just waiting for the Die shrink then I'm getting 1. I wanna build my achievements list I had to delete my profile on his pc cause my e-mail address was already attached to a account. Which I didn't realise is used on your 360 so all my Burnout Revenge, Test Drive & Oblivion achievements I have to do again.
But worth the challenge I say, But some niffty updates quite alot in fact.

I'm not updating to this fall update because *ahem* my modded 360 is at risk of teh b7. I'll wait until it's out and people give feedback on it.

Yeah MS will issue the smackdown upon you if you have any firmware mods or mod-chip devices. Serves ya right, ya fracking Pirate ;) LOL!

Can't say the 360 can be upgraded and modified to a greater degree then to PS3 since its not out yet. Besides the fact the PS3 has the same update feature thats shown on the PSP currently.
Updates are sweet more features are good, and look forward to more features on this console in the comming months. Do they upgrade monthly or something?

No set schedule for updates, but it's worked out to be quarterly so far.

Have to give your thanks to PS3 for some of the new features in the update. Without the competition from it, a good chuck of those features would never see the light of day...or at the very least would be long ways away.
Unfortunately even with the update however nice it is, X360 still leave for much to be desired as far as being a "media center". Xbox 1 + XBMC is still unrivaled imho.
All things aside, its a decent update (sucks it took them this long to roll out with it, XB live notifications while playing a DVD movie were driving me nuts) and hopefully this is the sign of things yet to come.

...and still no keyboard and mouse support in game, which the PS3 is supposed to have, damn I need to dig out my soldering iron and find the time to try out my crude hacking skills.

They can't add k/m support in a Live update because it already supports it. The game devs just haven't used the feature.
You won't be seeing any Live updates that update/patch your games, thats upto the devs just like it will be with the PS3.

is there an xbox360 to DVI cable? My TV has DVI and when I get a 360 probably when they shrink the die, Id probably want to run it that way.

Yes there is a 360-DVI cable and IT's NOT THE 360's FAULT THAT THERE IS NO KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SUPPORT IT IS THE GAME MAKER'S. As said the 360 already supports keyboard and mouse and I've used it to type in stuff on screen in a couple of games and at the system setup.

I am sure the OS could be patched to interpret kb and mouse input as use of the game controller. You say that it isn't anything to do with Microsoft, but they themselves have announced that they do not wish to add in game keyboard and mouse support, because of some rubbish excuse about it being unfair to gamers who wouldn't use them.

Haha, so even they admit that a keyboard and mouse is superior to the controller!!!
Keyboard+mouse FTW!!!!

I told my mate about this update finally and it was a big download took about 3 mins to get. But he's happy it ads new features and probably more security I suppose.

They probaby could but it would be stepping on game devs toes and probably not work well to boot. Giving devs the option is the best way to go.
ps I am glad there is no k/m support in games. People are always looking for an edge and its just 1 less thing that people can do to stack the odds in their favor. We all know how PC gaming is with the frames per second, the gaming mouse, the gaming mouse pad, the gaming Ethernet card, etc... Consoles should keep it simple and unmolestered.
No indication of BC for Phantom Dust so it auto-fails.

Patched last night. Have a hitachi with modified firmware. Everything still works as normal.
No threats this patch.

Seems a few of the new x360's don't like the fall update, some are getting Error 71 after the update. According to M$ it's because of lack of spring update on the consoles...so if you just bought a 360, I would hold of on updating untill a new version rolls out (24hrs according to M$).

Awhile back there was a $5000 Halo2 tournament here, and I asked if I could use KB/Mouse with my Joyfrag KB/M adapter to play, and they said it would be unfair, so I didn't go.

You have a point, even though I don't agree with you. However what could make M$ assertion about kb and mouse support not making for a level playing field particularly stupid is that they are supposed to be planning a special controller for FPS and other action games with more precision for aiming than the standard joypad.
I updated and it works fine. I don't have a drive firmware mod, but I was under the impression from what I had read that M$ could now disable modified consoles, but not that they were automatically doing so in all cases, so I wouldn't be so sure that your machine is OK.

The update went fine for the majority. Some consoles modded(samsung drives) and stock had Error 66 and Error 71. E71 was on new stock 360 which lacked the spring update and was supposedly fixed my M$. Cause of E66 is still being debated.
One of the theories is that with the fall update, M$ updated the kernel to check the DVD/firmware version of the drive vs. origianls stored somewhere in the 360. So far only some of the Samsung drives seem to be affected. Hitachi drives seem to be in the clear because their FW mod is not a 100% flash just bits and pieces are altered, which doesn't seem to flag it as modified. At this time...
Another less paranoid theory is that its just a freak software/hardware conflict bug...but, after some digging around and what not, the first theory is starting to make more sense.
Only time will tell...
