Has anyone else gotten this one (ABeta17-42). It has 100 frames and is processing in about 1/3 the time of a villen. How much credit do we get for this one?

I just updated the console version on one of my pc's and lost the work I was doing and started on the same protein as you jetmech. I was doing about a frame every 30 min's or so on a villin but on this protein the same pc is doing a frame in less than 10 minutes. Hopefully it will be worth 1 pt unless this is where those decimal points are coming in?

I was about to get all warm and fuzzy about the quick process until I finished and got another villin. I think the server can tell what you're working on and when you come on line with a clean slate it assigns a new server. The upload straightens it out and its back to business as usual.

This protein name looks similar to the Alzheimers protein that they talk about here (http://folding.stanford.edu/news.html)

I had wu's finish on 2 pc's early this morning and only 1 is showing up worth the standard 2pts on the stats page. I know some people say these things can take hours to show up but I don't agree.
edit.. Ok I'll eat my words. A wu just showed up in the stats and no pc's have finished a wu since early this morning, so that must be it:D

I just got home and found that during the night I had processed another one. I can't tell what value I was given because I've turned in about six WU's since my last check. I hope it's more than a half point because it takes longer than 1/4 time to process these things. This has been posted long enough for those in the know to have seen it and responded. This is my last post in this thread. I'll wait for the experts to start a thread and learn from it. One way or another these questions will be answered. :rolleyes:

I just got one on my P/// machine.... It came up as a 1000 Frame Protien though, not 100.

It started at 10:12 PM 11/27. I'll edit this post to include an "end time". I don't use the P/// rig (see "sig" below) for anything other than Folding, I use the XP rig for everything, plus Folding, as I want the P/// to be able to throw everything it's capable of at the WU's....;)

So;

Start:.. 10:12 PM, 11/27
End:....

**FoldMonitor says I'm doing a frame every 20 seconds....that puts it at a bit over 5 hours for this WU. I'll be in bed when it finishes...(ZZZZ---snore---ZZZ) I doubt I'll be awake to post it's end time... lol. I'll have to dig it out of the FoldingLog to see...**

Thanks for the response Mr. B. The WU I got was a 100. I didn't measure the process time but did note that it was 3 times faster than a villen/ native villen on both machines. I feel your pain on the dedicated machine. I've gotten to the point that I've cut down on my forum time just to leave the puters to work. LoL. Using Fold Monitor you can see a slight increase in time per frame every time you use the sys for other than folding. I had some (dumb guy) down time this past weekend that I need to make up for ( didn't know enough about a router to push the reset button). Again thanks:). The server is back to giving me villens now.

I just read that there is a problem with stanfords stats they are not showing up for this protein. They are in there main database just not showing up on the stats page. Vijay knows and is in the process of fixing it. Fold on!!!

Would I be correct in stating that this new protien is worth .8 points? I'm seeeing a lot of scores w/ decimals divisible by .8

Yeah... much faster protien, this one. :)

Yes Mr B. My score changed to a .8 first. Last I looked I had .6. I know something is up when I can finish a wu in less than a day:p

Edit.. It appears to be project 1001. I am showing 2 wu's done for that project but can't any details when I use the 1001 hyperlink.

I think you're right Mr B. I've done 4 today for a total of 7 x .8 = 5.6. My decimal number is .6.
