hiya,

i was wondering whether anyone could reccommend me a cooler for an athlonXp1800. i dont plan to overclock it, but since i read an article on how XPs tend to go up in smoke if the heatsink falls off (instead of shutting down like the P4 - http://www4.tomshardware.com/cpu/01q3/010917/index.html), i'd like one which does the job and is not heavy.
(therefore if you've heard of any coolers falling off, i'd like to know too!)
cut off price is $40, i am in the UK but most probably i'll buy it in austria since a friend of mine can get a discount :D
of course the more silent the better, but that goes with a price...

i'd appreciate any help coz when i look at all the possibilities i just get lost and dont know whats good (enough) for me, the only thing i know for sure is that i wouldnt like to spend more than those 40 bucks (which is like 26 british pounds to my knowledge and around 500 Ats)

in case you want to know, the mobo is an EPoX EP-8KTA3PRO.

thanks for any advice!!!!
pete

their are very good uk wae sites out their, my favorite is www.overclockingstore.co.uk , as they offer free delivery and they are cheep, also avalable is www.tekheads.co.uk and www.overclockers.co.uk and www.overclock.co.uk

i would get a copper heastink such as the sk6 and run the delta on it at 7 volts as shown here http://www.overclockershideout.com/7voltmod.shtml

www.overclockers.co.uk are really good and if you buy in bulk then their shipping isn't so bad, also the site is set out so you can see everything in one go!!!

Under catagories of course!!!
