Four ninjas steal ATM

October 23rd, 2006.




Tampa, Florida - It's not quite Halloween, but that didn't stop some costumed bandits from making off with a gas station's ATM.

Tampa Police say four men dressed in ninja outfits slammed a white Ford pickup truck into the Sunoco gas station at MacDill and Azeele on Monday morning.

The suspects picked up the automatic teller machine and drove off. They then went to Riverfront Park, took the money out and drove the truck with the ATM into the Hillsborough River and fled on foot.

The robbery was reported just after 5 AM. The truck was reported stolen and the gas station was not open to the public at the time because it is undergoing renovation.

There has been no sign of the ninjas.

It just proves that merely putting a ninja hood on does not make you a ninja.

nah he isnt trolling, as it is considered robbery, I vote for the FBI, ATF, DHS, and maybe Ninja burger for abuse of the trademark!

Not that new, to me at least. Here in Arizona, we have thieves stealing forklifts from construction sites and then using the forklifts to steal the ATMs
Such a huge rash of that going on, they dont know where to start, and many of the thefts are not from the same "gang" (so to speak) I guess all the would be thieves have thought it a good idea and tried it themselves.
They have pulled off or attempted such thefts at least 21 times this year in the Phoenix area alone.
