View Full Version : Video problem:
Hi, I am having a problem with my video. My video card is an ATI 32 meg Rage Fury Pro. Whem I close out a screen it is very jittery acting, kinda like it closes in stages, not quick like it used to be. I have tried different settings and with the refresh rate also. When going to a program it is really fast, no jittering at all, only when closing a screen. Any suggestions?
first off get a Geforce :D
Or you can try looking for new drivers... i heard that ati had some problems with some of their drivers... so go online and see if you can find some updated drivers..
I have the latest driver that is availible. This thing just started all of a sudden. Ihave not put anything new in the pc except a new mouse. If I have several screens up they all close right except for the last one, it closes slow kinda like it is going down a set of staires, thats about the best I can describe it. I'm stumped.
Mo:rolleyes:
which OS r u using modig?
couldnt that be an IRQ sharing problem if youre running W2k? if so take a look at the IRQ management to check if the new mouse isnt sharing its irq with the vid card or other devices..

hey, what games is it running slow in, it may just be that the card cant handle it, i had problems running serious sam, but then i overclocked, and all was well;) ...i think that card can last a bit longer, i could play max payne on it...try ocing you cpu a bit and see if the jitters go away....
:D It corrected itself somehow. I don't have a clue how it did it but i'm not going to question it. Thanks for the post.

Just to scare you, I mate of mine had a Geforce and one day unbeknownst to him, the fan stopped turning...
Strange things began to happen, like odd glitching and some extra white dots on DOS screens, then one day it stopped doing high resolutions, and much gloom descended. Eventually, all video acceleration failed and he was left in safe mode. Ugh.
Not a pretty sight.
You might want to see how warm your card gets after a good blasting session. I'd hate to be party to another slow and painful death.
Poor geezer had to write some reports on it too.
