View Full Version : abit kt7 and 133fsb athlon
i'd like to upgrade my duron 750 to a 1g athlon with 133mhz fsb. will this work on the abit kt7 mobo? is that stable?
is the globalwin fop32 enough for the 1g athlon?
how much prformance will i gain in games? (i think, almost nothing)
please help.
thanks!
I think you mean 266FSB 133MHz DDR. It'll work but not at 266FSB as the KT133 chipset can not run anything higher than 115MHz/230FSB if you lucky. You will have to unlock it then set it in the BIOS/SOFT MENU III/ CPU SPEED = 10 x 100MHz instead of 7.5 X 133MHz. You will also have to run your DRAM CLOCK @ HCLK+PCICLK if you have that option. That would mean that it'll have to be unlocked for you to change the multiplier. Why not just get a 200FSB/100MHz chip so if you upgrade to a 266FSB+ capable MoBo you can still run the same chip with a different multiplier. Probably a better video card will give you better gaming performance gain.
