I used the WindowsUpdate feature last week and since then my internet has been almost unusably slow. I've tested and it's not the line (dailup) or the ping (better than average). It seems like theres something 'stealing' my bandwidth. What can I do? I thought about a sortof 'roll-back' to a state before the WindowsUpdate fiasco. Possible??

BTW I used WinUpdte for reasons of security and I don't know what was updated etc.

If you can go back to a time before the WUPD was used, yes.
Just wish I knew what update you did to make it screw up. I have a gentleman on another forum, describing the same problem as you. Wish I knew what the fix was, but I need to find out whats causing it.

I did something similar to this a while back. In the MSKB there is an article that shows which file to delete that will remove the update history. You could then go back and redownload and reinstall the updates. I know that's not what you're asking for exactly. I tried it for a similar problem (with DSL) and it didn't fix that. Turned out that problem was caused by a NIC afraid of high FSB. HTH
