Going by the stats this card really looks like its good.. but most of the reviews I have read say it competes with the pro and somewhat with the ultra.
The newest review of the card that I have seen is Nov 1
I would expect that new drives have probably come out
Does anyone know how much of a performance increase this has provided?
Or where newer reviews of the Radeon 7500 can be found at
Thanks

Yeah I am interested as well since I have a raincheck that will let me buy the 7500 for $199 Canadian at www.futureshop.ca before the 29th.

If I find some really new reviews I will post a link.

The reviews look pretty good
quite a few said it was better than the geforce2 Ultra
with a little tweaking, do you think it might be able to run close to the geforce3 ti200?
Also the overclocking looked awesome
230 to 320

The Geforce2 Ultra and Ti200 are pretty similar in performance. The Radeon 7500 will probably not make it up to Ti200 levels. The 8500 is not that expensive, around $185 I believe, you may want to look into that. That will beat a Ti200.

I would have to agree, the 7500 will probably not catch the Ti200 but it can get to the equal of an Ultra or better, that is at default.

I think with an overclock on this card we could see it be just behind a stock Ti200 but ahead of a Ultra.

The reviews on it are good, but its price is close to the Ti200 so the Ti is probably a better bet, depends what you want, Ritteri& Bubbles says hydravision is a bit buggy (2 monitor support) however I saw it working fine in a store.

I am thinking of getting a 7500 just cause I have a raincheck and it is like $110 cheaper than a Ti200 here in Canada. I can buy it for $199 Canadian before the 29th. I think thats a great deal cause I can sell my 64 Radeon DDR vivo for a decent price so the upgrade will be cheap.

If I can get it to verclock as well as my 64 DDR has then I am off to the races with a pretty quick card plus it has that great 2D and dvd playback.

personally if you can afford it I would grab an 8500 or wait but to me the 7500 will do fine. I do not need the crazy high fps, since my 64 DDR can play all games fine right now and probably will for a while to come.

i would just pay the 40$ extra to get an 8500 OEM....but the 7500, looks like it competes on Pro levels...with better drivers, it could probably beat the Ultra (for a much bettter price)....

Yes the overclocking of the card was pretty good, but they were refering to the overclock of the core/engine clk from default of 290 to in some reviews as much as 340.

The memory has been able to get to about 240, I have not seen any higher with stock cooling and I am currently testing one.

On Pricewatch I can pick one of these up for about $120 including shipping
It says the ram is 4ns
from the stats it seems like it would be very competitive with at least the geforce3 ti200
The only thing i can figure is that the Radeon still uses 128bit and the geforce3 is using 256bit
but it does seem like the Radeon should be destroying the ultra kind of........

The card has 4ns ram, it actually beats the Ultra nvidia cards, I can post some sites that did tests.

I made an earlier statement that was wrong after doing some more reading. It's a good card for overclocking, pretty much remove the heatsink add some ASII reapply the heatsink and bam 320/540 probably higher with ramsinks and better cooler such as a crystall orb

The price here in Canada is high, at $265-300 I would wait and grab a 8500 in time. But I got mine for $199 the = to $130 US.

With these speeds it beats an Ulta hands down but still falls behind a Ti200 but not by much

actually the radeon uses a 256bit chip, in fact many reviews of the original radeon will say, Radeon356...

its uses 128bit ddrmemory though doesn't it?
Does the geforce3 use 256bit ddr????
Or is the array of technologies that make it so great?
Or both?

I have sold my modded 64 DDR vivo. Now I guess I have to keep the 7500 I was just planning to test. I have installed ramsinks on it with ASII and Monday my Crystal Orb is in , yeee hawww. The reviews on the crystal orb show it to cool 7 deg less than the blue orb and it is quieter as well.

I scored a 4802 on 3D Mark 2K1 with cpu at 1350 If I remember right. I will break 5000 after the Crystal Orb for sure. I hope to reach 320/540 thats the goal.
