my AMD k6-2 450 is barely outpreforming my pentium 233 laptop... i would think that a 450 would be produce a WU almost twice as fast as a 233... what is up with that?
thanks
Is the 233 the one with 512K cache?
The MMX Pentiums were quite a bit faster than the K6 AMD chips...doesn't surprise me much, if that's the case.
Processor to processor, my dual PII 350 is almost on par with my Celeron 600@750.

youll find that k6-2's have a very weak FPU
this limits them severely in seti times
the Athlons are so good at seti cause they have a powerful FPU
glad to see AMD fixed it

I used K6 2's for about a year and a half before upgrading to my Athlon. The last K6 2 was a 500 and benchmarked about 3 times slower than an Athlon 900. I also had a friend who had a Pentium II 400, that easily out-performed my 500 in 3D rendering. When it came to games the K6 2 was the far better CPU of the two machines. As Lonewolf1983 states the FPU on the K6 2's was pretty poor, have a look at Sandra benchmarks in comparison to other CPU's.
