Hi guys,

Need your help, I'm heading to the States on 26th of December and I'm going to be buying an G-force3 graphics card to replace my G-force 2Ultra. Now what is the best manufacturer, memory, Gforce3 model type Ti200/Ti500. Keep in mind performance Vs price.....

Please help me decide which is the best card based on performance and price!!!!!!

Thanks Paul.K

Can't wait to get to NY City!!!!

Merry Christmas to all members and vistor of overclockers and a happy New Year.

well, you aren't going to notice much of a speed increase going from an Ultra to a Ti. I'm pretty sure that a Ti200 will actually be slower than your Ultra- so the Ti500 or regular GF3 seems like your only options.

As for brand, Hercules and Visiontek are getting prety good reviews right now- but all GF3 cards are pretty much going to perform the same. Look for the cheapest one that has teh fastest RAM on it you can find.

I had a PNY (generic) GF3 for a week or so, and it behaved identically to my hercules GF3- for $50 less. Your decision.:)

Personally I'd go with the Gainward Gf3 Ti 200... overclocks well and it's Dx8 compatible;)

the Gainward is a good choice, but personally your ultra is more than enough right now, and before overclocking the Ti200 will be slower than it, so i would wait if i were you till a year or so...

The best choice :) The price will drop and somethin new will be out... I might just do it (only because I'm poor ;) )

Actually the G3 will be faster than the ultra, hence why the Ultra is now the G2 titanium, its not about the mem/core speeds (although it helps, look @ the ultra's core...) its something built into the card which makes it accelerate away from the G2. I

f you have the cash I would go for the Ti500, then again if you don't have the cash look at the Radeon 8500 as they are faster than the Ti200's and Regular G3's (finally starting to outperform ti500's in some tests) for the same price as a Ti200.

No i'm not starting a deabate, but for the money you can't get more "bang for your buck!"
