Folks, I'm looking to form an OCF Projects team for this section. Interested members please sign up.

Scope and Functions:

The ultimate goal is to learn more about the components we use. Doh! :santa:
All jokes aside, the goal of this team would be to work on small projects, maybe theoretical or experimental, over a weekly time-frame. All projects will pertain to electronics, circuits and devices. We will be knee deep in the nitty gritty of it.

Membership:

Open to all. No restrictions. It would be a bonus if you have an EE background or hands on electronics experience. We are all here to learn. ;)

Commitments:

This is the main purpose of having a formal sign-in. The idea is to have one FP quality article by the end of the week. To accomplish this, we have to set a non-flexible deadline. I don't think this will be hard, but its nice to start off with a set target.

Organization and Project Schedule:

Members of the team will suggest projects and I will pick one for the week (depends on the number of members we have). We will try to work on all suggestions in the following weeks.

Please have a gmail account handy, because the write-up will be on a google doc, to facilitate easy access.

The finished article will be published on the OCForums Frontpage.

The Team:

Sign me up, I love doin' this stuff :D

In fact, I've been working on something relating to it at the moment...Got a D5 that I ended up breaking the trimmer on, as well as one of the SMD pads that the trimmer was soldered to. After some work, I'm still in a mess... I understand what's going on but I have no way to solve it that I can think of.

Either way, I'm in ;)

You can either start your own project or jump into an exsisting one. Let me know if you would like to join up on my project? <send me an e-mail at super dot nade at gmail> :)

Hi Tom, the first article was a rush job. Maybe you can read it and let me know if anything isn't clear or making sense. This is a huge project in itself, so I'd like as many eyes as possible on it.

Thank you,

S-N

Hi S-N,

Could you PM me a contact email address if thats ok? Easier to attach Word document replies that way etc...

Feel free to delete this post afterwards if you want to keep this thread clean...

My e-mail is super dot nade at gmail dot com. If you have a g-mail address, I can add you as a collaborator on this project. I'm working with google docs, so collaborating on articles won't be hard.

Edit#

Buck regulator article updated.

Hell I'm in. I'm a senior electrical engineering student at MSOE to state my background. Also I have probably a zillion projects I'd like to start so this might be a good place to do it!

You are most welcome! What do you plan to work on? I'm working on a massive five part SMPS write-up. Would you like to join in?

I was thinking more project oriented, I'm first looking to design some simple PWM circuitry for fan controls.

But yeah! I'll help with anything! mbrewski@gmail.com if you need an address.

I'm building a guitar overdrive pedal, the Real McTube (http://www.dogstar.dantimax.dk/tubestuf/mctube.htm.)

I want to get a little farther on the project, I don't have some of the parts, resistors/caps. I have two transformers, 24v ones. They have 3 output wires, so I can use two of those to give me 12v.

Linky no worky. :)

Are you going to plug your guitar directly into it or do you have an effects processor daisy-chained to this one?

Pluggin' my guitar into that, then plugging that into the front of the amp. I'm using it to front my distortion channel on my amp to get more power-tube distortion.

The link works, it's a .htm though, not .html. I'll fix the link though.

I don't believe I'd be nearly qualified enough (yet) to join up with such a project, but I'll be more than happy to read what is produced.

Good luck :),
