Looking to see if anyone know how to make an LED that goes on when the USB has transfer activity, should be self powered. Also looking to see if anyone knows any other hardware mods.

Im pretty sure its the white wire that transfers 5V+(i think, dont hold me to this) and obviously, the black that carries ground.

I had that PSP professionally modded for somthing just like that by a guy that lives downtown from me :shrug: I had him remove it, I didnt think you would want it.

Yeah, i think i just may hook up a led and see what goes.

Ok
so i found that the RED wire is the +5V
BUT
i dont want the LED on all the time, i want it like USB enclosures have, where it flashed when theres activity, not when theres a connection.
so i guess i want to know how to make an activity LED not a connection LED

You may have better luck asking over in the circuitry section. I would assume that there is a circuit for detecting activity on the usb data channels.

i always thought it would be cool to throw a couple leds under the clear shoulder buttons. never had a PSP so i havent done it. it just seems like a cool mod

forgot to post it here, i did this instead of the USB led mod.

thats cool and all, but umm... the black was already sooo sexy. wtfs with the clear case?

i think the clear case would look alot cooler if it were tinted. i have a tinted window on my lian-li v1000b. you can barely see through it with the caselights off, but when you turn it on it looks really good. i'd post a pic but im not at home atm. IMO that would look really cool on the PSP with the leds inside. the only prob is it would be hard to tint the plastic if they dont make a tinted case for it already.

P.S. the original black is pretty secksy...
