Hello,
My specs are listted in my siggy :)
Now my problem is with SETI..My sys takes about 20 hours!! per WU and it just keeps getting worse and worse :( it went from 8 to 10 hours etc...Now I know that sometimes the occasionall WU's may take longer but this is ridiculous....
Could someone help me out since im eager to make a bigger contribution to the SETI team
btw my OS is Win98
Are you running the command line or screen saver version?

Set it to run continuously in the background and then configure the screensaver to blank the screen instead of showing that progress graph. That will help a lot. So will running SETI 24/7 and make sure your system doesn't shut down the hard drive overnight.
This is where someone else steps in and advises you to use the clc.....
Haha...and that's exactly what I'm going to do.
DITCH THE SCREEN SAVER!
Your times will be nearly cut in half if you do.
Go here (http://www.ocsetiteam.com/Instr1.htm) and download the CLI version, SETISpy and SETI Driver and follow the instructions for setting them all up to run in tandem. You'll be crunching like a champ in no time!
Thanks for all your efforts!

Is that what CLI is? the command line version? hmm k well i'll go try it..ill edit this to post results :)
TY for the help Jon :)
Well the main problem I see is this:
"Pentium 100@200"
My Celeron running at 466 only gets 18 hours/WU (with CLC), so I'm amazed how fast that thing IS crunching....
The CLC only makes about a 20-30% diffrence in speed (after all the optimizations listed for the GUI), so you will drop down to 18 like me...
This is where somebody else gives you the address to the CLC page... And gets another convert from the GUI side. (or is it "GUI center?" :D )
People not even reading the sig he mentions... :D :D

No problem...
CLI=Command Line Interface=Quite a bit faster.
The screen saver is cool and all but alot of your processing power is being eaten up to display the graphs and stuff. Command line is simply run in a DOS command box with no interface at all. Following the instructions on the site will hide it altogther.
You get things up and running with that and you'll get some better times.
Also, as JigPu said, if you're using that 100@200 to crunch with, it's definately going to bring your averages way down. My P133 took 67 hours to complete and I decided it just wasn't worth it. I can live with 1 WU per day, but not 1 every 3 days, haha.

Argh! Didn't even read that line!! Don't ya just hate it when you see something in somebody's sig, but then ignore the obvious??
Well then.... 20 hours most definatly IS a long time... Hope the CLC helps out majorly...
