Ok I am looking to buy 2GB of ram. I have been all over newegg's website trying to find (2 X 1Gb) (184 pin) of ram that is pc4000 or higher. The only ones in stock are:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145596

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220084

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820134123

I am really wanting some of the OCZ Gold or even the G.Skill Extreme. Are these rams not coming back into stock since the arrival of the 240 pin DDR2? Is the 184 pin a thing of the past now? I hate to have to spend money for a new cpu/motherboard just to get 2GB of ram at DDR500 speeds.

Also, if I am forced to decide between those 3 types of ram. What is the best choice to go with? I am currently running the following system and want to get the best overclock.

DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra D
AMD 64 X2 4400+ (939 socket)

Well, I don't know why there's soo little listed, but that Kingston Kit is damn good if I may say so.

Too bad the prices to all DDR types of RAM are inflated.

That ram will run nicely with your 4400.

2.5Ghz 10x 1:1
Or if you have the cooling... or if your 4400 is a good model that came with the quag heatpipe stock HS, you can easily run.
2.75Ghz 11x 1:1

Any other places to buy the ram I am wanting? Or you think the Kingston will be just as good as the OCZ or G.Skill?

I checked out the Mwave site and they only have the PC3200 ram. I am really needing the PC4000 or higher. Thanks anyway though.

Anybody else?

In general you will have a hard timing finding anything faster than PC3200 from this point on. Most IC makers have gone on to producting DDR2/3 memory and the stocks of fsat DDR1 IC's are running out fast.

I see that quite a few companies have completely stopped their TCCD line. So, now has TCCD become a collectors item as well?

DDR in general will start being harder and harder to find. With both AMD and Intel both on DDR2 platforms now, DDR memory is being relegated to legacy product status.

I'm in a similar boat. I am wanting to add another 1G of RAM. Unfortunately, I currently have G-Skill PC4800 and can't find another pair to match it. My bus is currently sitting at 270, so I need PC4400 or 4800.

I went to the TankGuys site and they seem to have something that might fit the bill. Does anyone have experience with their RAM? I've personally not heard of them (although that may not mean much). Also does anyone know if it will play nice with the G-Skill I already have?

Randa,

Tank Guys are here on this site from time to time and have an excellent reputation and are very helpful. Their brand of RAM has gotten top reviews too. You may be asking them too much about compatibility with another brand. I'd ask them, they will answer you and will tell you as they see it as they did below.

Personally you may be better to bite the bullet and get 2x1 GB dual channel sticks rather than running 4 x 512s with mixed memory. I doubt you'll get that bus speed with 4x512s of mixed memory.
