I just got my 1.2ghz t-bird today from newegg.com.. stupid fedex guy left it at the wrong door and sat outside for 2hrs in the cold...rrrrrr... anyway the multiplier is locked.. i thought it wasn't sappossed to be locked?? cause when i change it in my bios it won't post.. its no big deal i will do the pencil trick like i did on my duron... i had it oc at 1430mhz so far only doing fsb and thats as fast as i can go video card holds me back at that 160fsb....
Is it a 200 or 266? I read somewhere that the 266's on, were unlocked. What stepping did you get? You're right, just give it the ol pencil and you should be good to go! Good Luck!:)

Would be the first 1200 that I've heard of that's locked, but I really haven't been paying all that much attention lately. At least the Tbirds are easy to unlock.

well i was playing with it some more and it is unlocked but won't do any multiplier below 7x how odd is that?? it will do from 7x up to 12.5x on my Iwill motherboard
My tbird wont do anything below 5.5x. I would like to benchmark it and run it @ 500 or less but 550 is as low as I could go.
