You should have 2.93 to 3.05 (x6800) on stock volts/stock cooling no problem. Bump up vcore to 1.4 and you got 3.1 stable all day on stock cooling. Assuming your temps are inline. Push that chip!!! Welcome to the club!
PS- I highly recommend an aftermarket cooling solution. You will be amazed at how crappy those stock HSF's are on for Conroe/Allendale.

What do you think I can run with the same chip watercooled? Is high 3 Ghz stable?

with a water setup like mine below, you could probably push the chip to 3.6-3.8, assuming you don't live in a desert ;)
I'll let you know how I fair, I'll have a E6600 in the system in my sig in about a week.

with air i can do a stable 3.4ghz 24/7 oc @ 1.425 v..... i can get up to 4ghz @ 1.65 ON AIR !!! anyways on water ur looking at a good solid 3.6-3.8 stable 24/7 with ok temps...
And what other ppl said aftermarket cooling is amazing with these things.... to be able to hit 4ghz on air from 2.4ghz is simply amazing.... plus you can do 333x9 alll day long on stock volts.

:welcome: Recovery! Like Dominick and the guys said, you have room to push it. What I generally tell people is to shoot for 3.0ghz. The only thing you need to look for is your load temps; as long as they are not too high, keep pushing until it isn't stable, then back up a bit and that's a nice point to sit at for a while.
Definately do consider getting an aftermarket cooler if you want to push it a littler more. Best of luck, and again, welcome to ocf!

The core 2's can be pushed really hard. Over at XS they are pretty much the 100% oc kings. If your chip doesnt do at least 3.2 ghz then I would be surprised. Another thing to keep in mind about the intel boards, the FSB is what becomes the limiting factor, the boards dont like that much over 350mhz. For people with lower-end chips this is horrible. Considering 350 x 9 = 3150mhz. That mobo just might be enough for you to get an average oc out of your chip, but you wont be able to really get the full potential out of your ship without another board or 680i chipset board if you have to stay nvidia.
