I don't know to much about laptops, but it looks like the video uses integrated memory, which from experience on desktops has been a bad idea.

You might want to take a look at the Lenovo Z61M series. (http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/notebooks/thinkpad/z-series/index.html) Starting at US$779, they have a core 2 duo processor and ATI X1400 graphics.

I've never been much of an HP laptop fan, having disassembled dozens of them. The build quality leaves much to be desired. IBM (Lenovo) and Toshiba are the two I'll generally recommend simply for their long-term reliability and overall quality...

***Edit***

Just noticed that $779 gets you the Celeron M, C2D adds another $225...

Well if you're not going to game I'd say get that if you want. Personally I see no reason to have a laptop with a screen size over 14.4" but hey

Yeah, and with a gig of mem, it probably won't be too bad if not high rez gaming.

Oh, and I wasn't trying to overstate the obvious, just missed the "better than any other integrated crap" and figured you had not noticed that part for some reason or another.

Good luck with it.

My mom got a similar laptop for her birthday. Only difference was that is was a single-core Turion, 512mb RAM and ATi Radeon Xpress 200 Graphics. It works very well, so I'm sure you'll have no problems with what you have chosen.
