View Full Version : Shutdown NOW! Program
Ok, I've had MBM5 for a while to monitor cpu temperatures. Within the next couple months, I will be switching over to watercooling and trying some extreme overclocking and want to be safe from pump failure, so I downloaded ShutDown NOW! and have no friggin idea how to get it working.
I can successfully click a button in the program that makes my computer shut down regularly, but MBM5 simply executes a program when the temperatures reach a certain point and I don't know how to get ShutDown NOW! to automatically shut down my computer just by running the .exe file.
Anyone know how to do this?

This article here at OC.com might be of some help to you...

You can also do the following to auto-shutdown your PC...
Using MBM5, under Temperatures/CPU/Alarm, there is a checkbox for "When alarm goes off run this application" and "Start application switch".
This is what you put in each area:
*When alarm goes off start application: RUNDLL32.EXE (to the right of the checkbox there is a folder. Click it and find rundll32.exe
*Start Application with Switch: shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx 5
This will FORCE a shutdown at the temperature alarm you set. If you run an application that asks to be killed before shutdown, this will still work. Do a test yourself by lowering the alarm temp lower than normal, but higher than the temp when you boot up (or it will keep shutting down). The great part is it does not ask you for anything, it just shuts down. And, this is a proper shutdown as far as windows is concerned. Remember, you will lose any unsaved work when the alarm kicks in.

Another method is the same except it uses a different switch:
*When alarm goes off start application: RUNDLL32.EXE (to the right of the checkbox there is a folder. click it and find rundll32.exe
*Start Application with Switch: user.exe, exitwindows :burn:
Thanks. I'll try that out when I get out of class.
