You guys might remember me from a few weeks ago. Here are my system specs before I start.
Specs:
Celeron 1.1GHz 100MHz bus w/ AlphaPep 66 fan
576MB RAM (2x256, 1x64) PC 133
GeForce 256 32mb agp
Kensington NIC 10/100 (ISA)
SB PCI 128
BH6 (Pentium II Slot 1) board
realmagic dvd decoder
pci parallel card
--less important--
6x dvd (samsung) 32x cdread
16x12x40 yamaha cdr
20 GB WD 7200
60 GB WD 7200
floppy 1.44, of course
<deep breath> Here we go. I've got a lot of stuff on this system. It's a gaming/coding/studio/design combo, so I end up doing a lot of reformats/reinstalls to keep things clean. I just did one three months ago, and everything was running smoothly. Then I came up with the idea of upgrading my Celeron 566a (which was overclocked to 707MHz; mysteriously couldn't get it up to 850MHz stable as my friend and I had done on his system, which, at the time, was a twin) to a Celeron 1.1 (100MHz bus). Now, I understand that this board is old, but, I do know that the coppermine line is supposed to be able to support chips at least up to 1100MHz. (because I was sorely unable to overclock to anything higher and actually boot Win98) Now that the chip is in and running at 1100, I've been having numerous small, but irritating problems. First off, my new Yamaha 16x cd writer will absolutely not burn a single disc beyond a 2x speed, if I'm lucky. Second off, I can't even get halfway through a DVD movie without my entire system locking, a problem that used to occur literally once in a blue moon in the three years that I've had DVD capacity. At first I thought it was a conflict between the software DVD decoders (PowerDVD, WinDVD) and my REALHollywood+ hardware, so I tried playing hardware only, using the REALMagic bundled software, then disabled the card altogether and tried software again, all with the same results. So I'm thinking its the motherboard... it's only rated in the manual to support 333MHz under Celeron and 384 MB RAM... but isn't that not neccessarily true? Any thoughts would be HIGHLY appreciated. I'm in a wreck without my DVDs, being a film major and enthusiast... heh.
If it is the case that I need a new board, can anyone direct me to one that suits my needs that also has ISA slots? I'm having a hard time, particularly because of time constraints due to my workload right now. I do have a scanner, a digital camera, and the manual if you need more to work with.
Here are my CPU soft menu settings just for analysis. (even the miscellaneous stuff)
Turbo Freq: Disabled
Ext. Clock PCI: 100MHz (1/3)
Multiplier Factor: x3.5
SEL100/66# Signal: High
AGPCLK/CPUCLK: 2/3
L2 Cache Latency: Default
Speed Error Hold: Disabled (If I enable this at anything more than 75MHz bus I get a speed hold "Unworkable or has changed", etc)
CPU Power Supply: Defaut (1.75v)
TIA, Scathe
I'm sure I'm forgetting some other woe, but that's a mouthful anyway. I guess I should apologize in advance, too.

Here's a link for the board: http://lhd.datapower.com/db/dispproduct.php3?DISP?289
As for the slotket, I know that it was ABit, slot 1, socket 370. If you need something more specific, I can let you know when I get home.

Dude you need to flash the latest bios I think. I had a BH6 and I did that and it was fine. It detected my 800e in the bios as a PIII 800 even.

Here is the link to that.

Sounds like some of your problems are maybe from the OS but it is too late for me too go into that tonight.

I am not guarenteeing that it will detect your chip as a PIII 1100 but I think the multi's are there so it may. Have you flashed to the latest bios yet? In the bios you shoul dbe able to run everything in spec as the multi is set by the chip and not the mobo.

Well... that may have been the only thing I haven't tried yet. I'll try that.. in the meantime, any other suggestions?

Definitely flash that board to the SS bios so that it will recognize Coppermine procs correctly, if you haven't done so already. Also if that doesn't help, try removing the 64 meg dimm and the hardware dvd decoder board. You really don't need a decoder board with a high performance proc like that 1100 celery and you might be getting some instability from having all 3 dimm slots populated. I have had no problems whatsoever with my BH6 and the slot 1 P3 1000E running at 1120.
