I currently have 1 GB of ram, I can run it well with max settings however I do get some stuttering.
Many say I should get 2gb so I get little to no stuttering.
But what about 1.5gb? Will that cut it?

Shuttering may not go away fully with 2 gb since it could be gpu or internet connection related too. 2 would be better than 1.5 though, because you would lose dual channel w/ 1.5. Best bet is usually to sell the 1gb kit and pick up a 2gb.

Bring this to the games section.

2gb and more will always help demanding games, especially online games. When Vista rolls around, expect around 4gb to be the minimum for online/demanding games to have no stuttering.
