180 DAY warranty? Isn't that a bit excessive?
The warranties on my 74GB ones, are 5 tiny years, instead of 180 massive days.

Aren't those 80GB ones the Dell ones that only have 8mb of cache?

It says, 120 days on the top, 180 days on the bottom, and also on the bottom has a warranty link (http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1377&p_created=1118155425&p_sid=1FBGj6Mh&p_lva=<a%20href=) that if followed says 5 years. There's one more link that brings you to WD, which also says 5 years (http://support.wdc.com/warranty/policy.asp#policy)
Even though it appears it's a OEM 80gb Raptor, it appears to have the 5 year warranty, but to be sure, you'd have to ask Western Digital (http://www.wdc.com/en/company/contact.asp)
ah i see it now.thx
not a bad price if txmicro is a solid company.the 36gb raptor is $110 at the egg but its 16mb.not sure if it makes that big a difference tho.

Copied from that link.
OEM drives are sold without accessories or installation software.
OEM drives may not contain a warranty from Western Digital. When Western Digital sells hard drives to OEM computer manufacturers such as Dell, Compaq, Apple, etc, we sell these drives without warranty. The OEM computer manufacturer would include the hard drive under the warranty of the computer system that the hard drive was installed into. For more information about hard drive warranties, please see our Warranty Policy.

I've made 1 purchase from TxMicro before. It turned out the item I bought did not work as promised. I called their tech support which responded by refunding my purchase without having to ship the item back. It was less than 20 bucks but they still took care of it to my satisfaction.
