locked hard drive/shuttle AI61 mobo....help!!!!

hard drive is in dos modecannot scandisk or defragment. says a utility has it locked......why? errrrrrrrr
i have down loaded latest drivers and bios from shuttle still nothing ...common guys what do i do?

Have you booted to dos or are you using a Dos window?

Also what version of Windows are you using?

windows me . im running in windows. but i did go to dos to try to fdisk another hard drive; but to no avail either ...thank you

Try booting from the Windows 98 Boot disk...if you have one. See if you can get it to work then.
