ASROCK SOCKET A K7NF2
PNY 6600GT AGP 128MB

Can anyone tell me if those 2 are compatible or not?

I'll explain --

Its an nfroce 2 board with an AGP slot - and the graphics card is an AGP PNY 6600GT so YES sure they must be compatible right - but are they?

My friend is trying to setup a rig using them for her kids and the thing will not accept any nvidia drivers from it at all.

It just wont accept them, we install them but after the reboot they aint there under desktop right click/properties/advanced .. we extract them to a dir and point the "Found new hardware" at the dir were we extracted god knows how many versions of nvidia drivers, from 50.00 up to the latest 90's and it just doesn't see them.

We even tried the drivers that came with the card on its cd, but nope no go just doesnt see them.

All the mobo drivers that came on its cd have been put in... but we are getting knowheres :(

The card is fine its been tried in another system and worked perfectly.

Anyone got any ideas?

We are trying a bios update at the moment but we aint holding out much hope..

Anyone got any expereince with the same mobo and vid card?

I mean its an agp slot and an agp card and its nfroce chipset so it should love a PNY 6600GT right?

Help
