Am I missing something here? I have tried to oveclock my Gainward GeForce3 Golden Sample a few times with their "ExpertTool". I tried tapping the memory up one notch, hit apply and my screen goes away. I have it at the enhanced setting, 220/480. But I just wanted to see if I could go higher. It is original cooling, have not modded it or anything yet.

Should I be using a different tool? Work has been crazy, so I have not had allot of time to mess with it lately. Just looking for an idea of a new tool or different method I should try.

Thanks all! :D

Zeke,

Try using Nvmax (http://www.nvmax.com)

(Just checked thier site is down for upgrading)

You can also get it here as well as other utilities (http://www.guru3d.com/files/)

I love the snow! Maybe I will break out the old sled before I try to OC my card.... hmmmm...

I am using the 2051 build that I found @ Guru3D of nvmax, I have a question for anyone here: If I bump the speeds up for either the memory or cpu... shouldnt the sliders be in that place after a reboot? For starters it is at 200/460, i set it to 220/480 rebooted and it was back at 200/460.

Is that how this little bugga works?

ummm
it could be your drivers... some of nvidias drivers dont let you oc your card. they are the ones taht are wgra gah i dont member what they were off hand but it was a 4 letter acronym starting with w. The easy way around this is just go find some of their leaked ones. They are all over the place so as long as you dont get them from Nvidia.com youll be fine

I missed that little enable "coolbits" check box. Once I enabled that one I was able to start the overclocking. Although, one rather strange side effect of installing nvmax is that 3dmark 2001 no longer works. It will not recognize my card as being dx8 compatible.

Other than that... running at 225/490 and still rising is always a fair trade!:D

But I still want 3DMark 2001 to work again... :(
