HI guys,

This is my first post but Ive been lurking for a while now, successfully unlocked my xp1700 yesterday. Currently Im running at 11x147 = 1.62 Gig. My temps are no problem, they top out around 41C under load. I would like to pump it up a little farther but if I bump the fsb up higher I get a message when I boot stating something about files missing unable to boot or I get a blue screen and the computer restarts itsself. I have increased the core voltage 2 steps up from norm and the same with the ram voltage. Any ideas why this is happening? Its 2 256 meg crucial 2.5 running @ cl 2. Have DRAM settings at 18 8 8 2 6 2 1 1 1 2 and that makes it really fast, at least in sandra, not sure exactly what those numbers are for though, P.

Anotherquestion, would it be better to lower the fsb and increase the multiplier? or vise versa? The system as a whole seems faster when I increase the fsb, but I fan get the cpu clock higher by increasing the multiplier.

thanks for the advise

I've never had this problem, but sounds like your hard drive going out of specs at higher fsb.

Perhaps the more experienced ocers can shed more light on this?

You could try raising the I/O voltage a little bit and see if that helps it is either the raid controler or your hard drives that are giving you problems. Can you raise the multiplier with the FSB at 147 ?

Ok I increased my oc voltage one notch, there are only 2 settings actually, now its on high and I am running 11X149 pretty stable. Anyone got any other suggestions or experiences that might help, I see some peeps can overclock their fsb got like 160 or higher, wonder how you do that :)
