View Full Version : looking for a good p3 heatsink
I dont think my alpha pal is cutting it. temps are up arround 37-38 degrees when folding and I would like them to drop a few degrees. currently I have an alpha pal 6035.
Can someone recomend a good copper heatsink that will have better performance. also I am looking fo something that is not too loud and it cant weight too much since my processor is on a slotkit.
Thanks

i was going to suggest the sk6 but s does not seen to fit your situation, i would go for the Millennium glaciator II

the glaciator is abit heavy as well....i would go to www.svcompucycle.com and get a GoldenGate all copper cooler with like a 30cfm fan for 15$ shipped....

What fan do you have on it? I have a PEP66, but it's got a Delta on it so it's kinda loud and still kinda heavy, but it wasn't too bad on my slotket. It's since had the shroud mod to fit on the new MB. Running SETI with a temp of 32°C. I think having your system run cooler and quite is going to be a bit of a challenge, even if it's for just a couple of degrees. Thought about adding in a duct?
right now i have a sanyo denki 3500 rpm fan on my alphal pal 6035. I also own a delta 38 and I've tried it but it only helps slightly and its noisy as hell.
My case is the antec sx1030b and I have 4 80 mm 2500 rpm fans on it plus the psu fan so no I am not looking for dead silence.
I doubt the slotkit will fall off. I think they are suppose to hold up to 18 pounds or something? As long as its smaller than a car radiator then it should be fine.
