I'm going to wait until the end of the console's life cycle, like I did w/ the PSTwo. That way, the hardware will be proven, the games down to a science, online will work perfectly and it'll be $200.

You're right. I just.. want to play one so badly....It looks so cool! Can I post a thread for the buyers to come to and tell about it? Im really interested in the GUI. I was blown away by PS2's when it was released, I cant even imagine what the ps3 is sporting.

im going to hold myself over by renting all the PS2 MGS games.

I live in a fairly small area, maybe I should have checked out all the stores in my area that would have carried the PS3's. I could have been one of these turds charging 4x+ the cost.

Semi-useless stat:

Wal-Mart guaranteed 10 60GB and they had 4 20gigs, only 6 60s were delivered and 4 got rainchecks, so a total of 14 PS3s.

Of the 14 at my store, two were definitely being kept and one was still uncertain.


I paid $530 to move from spot 12(a 20Gig spot) to spot 5
Someone who later had my old spot 12 got $600 for their spot!!

Right now there are 13,718 PS3 systems listed on ebay. Just searched "PS3" and filtered to game systems and got that number. Seems about right to me, should climb a bit in the next day or so. I was expecting to see maybe 40-50k listed, but not so. I'm surprised to see they are still going for over 2K still, thought just the pre-orders would be so much.

EDIT: Refresh 1min later gives 13,805 so the number is definitely climbing

One more thought on PS3. Just saw one go for $4,150. If people are willing to dish out that kind of money for these things then Sony will do just fine with their console. Despite all the bad press surrounding their release, everyone seems to want one. You might not like Sony or their console, but I see them doing quite well. I might get one later on if they drop a notch in price (IE <$500 for the premium)

I know I'm going to want to play MGS4 and FFXIII already.

Err nope, theres plenty going for under 500 let alone 2k. You have a people having lots of buy it nows for a couple K sure but the people u really want to look at is the one with bids. And people that have at least some rep to them.

Damn - Just pulled the trigger online at Gamestop for a 20GB PS3 bundle. Manged to get one of the few before the site went dead. Now out of stock.

Bundle isn't so good, and I may keep it or flip it when it arrives on December 2.

I wonder how many scammers are on both sides are, buyers and sellers. I was thinking about that ebay's sells and went to conclusion if I would be selling I would not dare accepting paypal from a buyer. 25 days from now on, supply kicks in and ps3 becomes widely available. People start issuing disputes through paypal with bogus reasons because why would somebody pay 2-3k for something worth $500-$700.

If you look at the bidders of many of those auctions, they have like 1-3 feedback ratings. And I've seen several that show as having bid on a PS3, but now show "No longer a registered user" next to the bid.

Yup I definatly, while im sure there would be a price hit on my end not sell a PS3 using Paypal. Im sorry I'll take pictures and video of the unit i have with a damn newspaper by it and show as much proof that i have it but I would not be the unlucky sucker that got ripped off saying they didn't get it even though it would be signature and tracked and insured (for the full price amount on the package). Theres few uses I will use paypal for and trust, which is users here (since we got SSS) and buying items from places that i've bought previously and know (which is only 1 other site).

I would require.... no no request, demand a MO. Period.

A close friend is a manager at the local SuperWalmart. I spoke with him this morning and he told me they received seven (7!) and three (3!) were DOA. How many of the ebay units are going to result in disputes? That's not a very good percentage for sony.

well, in sony's defense, i used to work at a walmart near me. and you should see how they handle packages they recieve in their trucks. the people arn't exactly carefull. They are being payed jack squat, to stand in a room, and unload a truck. they want to get the truck unloaded as fast as possible, and so do the managers. For them, SPEED is important.

i wouldn't doubt if one or two of walmarts units are DOA, simply due to excessive abuse from shipping/unloading the trucks.

lol not true. we melted down an exlax bar and molded it into a hershey bar! :D It was a prank for this kid who always picked on a friend of mine. The fireworks started within an hour.

Also consider they probably dont have alot of food in them right now. It could take effect pretty quickly :D
