hard ocp is kicking our butts guys. fire up those pentium ones if you got em. if we cant catch oc.au in the near future then we better atleast keep the hard ocers from catching us.

A well needed B U M P here! We need members! Why shut your box off when your done posting or playing? Help us fold and get more for those dollars you spend on your boxes.

Folding does not hurt a properly built machine! It helps find cures for cancer, alzheimers, etc. and also helps unlock some of the questions about the dna structrue and how it works.

Check out this screenshot of the current F@H application...how cool is this? Join the fun!!!!!!!!!!

I got a network/router, so all three of my comps are always connected now, no more swapping cables/kvm switch for me...

That will give a little bump, no more lost units because of crashing from hooking an unhooking... I am now in the top 30, and hope to get close to the top 25 soon, unless you guys stop me...

I would note that someone that I recruited, fightingpiper, is also in the top 30 now. He started with nothing, now folding with 4 comps. He rocks!!! Let's all try to recruit someone this week.

Also, got an extra NIC and a small HD, so I can get one of my pentium systems going, just need a new stick of sdram...

Someone needs to get an institutional farm, school or company. I can't help with this, but we NEED one.

Flounder,
Stay back you are closing in on me. I think I might start my old p-200 folding although it will take a long time to finish a WU.
Fold on!!!

we dont need the farm. i looked at hard ocp's stats and they just have a lot of people folding with 3 or 4 pcs. there isnt a gigantic foad sized farm there. if all 300 or however many F@H members were folding then we would be right up there with oc.au. thing is people join, lose interest and then quit.

we need an icon like david hasslehoff to lead our team. then we would be unstopable.

Yep, sometimes there are probs with the servers, or what not, and I get a little discouraged myself. Too bad we do not have a highly refined system like, well, something else.

I am committed, though. and I say let's FOLD!!!:burn:

I know what you mean....it is a bit disheartening to scroll down the list below me, and see that the last two or three pages are comprised of almost exclusively "zeros". Looks like a lotta peeps Fold one or two WU's, and get bored, or just lose interest, or have a problem and give up.

One thing I look at daily, besides the team stats in relation to OCAU and [H], is the difference between our number of accounts, and active accounts. Ususally the difference between the two is a good sized one.....:(

IF we could get half of those inactive accounts to Fold some more....we would at a minimum, stay on pace with [H]. We would need more than just that to catch OCAU, but it would sure put a dent in it though....:(

Fold ON!!!! :)

But I know nothing of the GUI client which is what I think might appeal to the people I will next try to recruit. So far my recruiting efforts have not been fruitful. I'm going to dl and try out the gui myself but if anyone has any input about the reliability or config probs let me know.
Edit.. by the way the reason I have no experience with the gui is I have been using the console exclusively.

I've been running the text only version, and have had (almost) no problems. (The only probs I have had, had to do with trying to run the client while overclocking the CPU just a tad tooo high...lol. It ran fine, but kept corrupting the work. Didn't discover that for a few days...:( )

I backed off on the overclock a few FSB, and it's been smooth sailing since.

The text only is nice....set it and forget it.

I use both. The only trouble I had with the GUI version is with my laptop, for which I cannot update the drivers and with my old video card which was a Voodoo card. My production is about the same either way and I like the fact that the GUI stuffs itself into the tray. Besides, I needed an avatar. ;)

I put a couple boxes back on OC now that AOA has it's head above water again. :)
