View Full Version : Soul Calibur II, GC, Xbox or PS2?

I can get Soul Calibur II for any of the three systems (have the original on Dreamcast) for $10 and since DreamCast (my preferred) option isn't available which version should I go for?

Xbox -Spawn playable character (not a big Spawn fan)
GameCube-Link playable character (worried gamecube controlls will suck)
PS2-Heihachi playable character (a Tekken character?? I like Tekken btw..)

I have it for xbox and it looks amazing...also has 720p support for it but it doesn't output right, atleast not on my TV. Gamecube obviously has the best special character but I don't think you'll find yourself playing the special character much.

I have it for GC. Link is awesome on it, he has bombs, boomerang, and bow/arrows.

GC version. Link rules both Spawn and Heihachi. The GC version's controls don't suck, either. It's got some of the tightest controls available.

All 3. That way you can enjoy each of the special Characters. you can probably go to your local game store and buy them all used.:santa:

I've played them all a fair amount, I used to be real into Soul Calibur. The PS2 version has longer load times, which actually gets pretty annoying in a fighting game. I don't really notice much graphical difference between any of the 3, but I don't really have an eye for it. They have similar Graphics. I'm a huge Link fan, but honestly, Spawn is just plain fun, even if you're not much of a fan. The controls are good on all of them, I think, though I like the Xbox controls the most. I guess I'd go either GC or Xbox.

I got the GameCube version, first character I beat it with was Link :D , I like that Necrid guy too. The controlls are pretty good despite the Gamecube controller.

Probably the best choice if you don't like spawn. If I had all three systems I would've gotten the xbox version because I'm tired of playing as Heiachi.
